Rokea el-Azhary, MD, PhD (My Seven Years of Silence) - I retired a few years ago from Mayo Clinic after 30 years of work as a dermatologist. For several years I had considered writing about my experience as the focus of a research-related lawsuit with a pharmaceutical firm, which eventually made its way to the US Supreme Court. During this period of 7 years while the lawsuit continued, I was silenced from discussing any of the details with colleagues or even family members, thus the title above.
